Fall Fun

Our family hosted the Red Dot Community Picnic for Peachtree Presbyterian Church with the Fishmans.  We were getting organized at home and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with a large number of attendees.

Beckett celebrated 8 years!  Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Jim made the trip down from Bloomington, IN to celebrate and help with the party.  Michael and his parents were the brains behind the card board cars...I was in charge of the cake and all things food.  Beckett was surrounded by friends and family to make his 8th birthday party the best yet!  Thank you to all that attended!

Grandma Sandy, Caden, Grandpa Jim and Beckett.  Thank you for watching the kids so we could sneak away for date night with some friends.  The boys are still talking about the games you played that night!
Beckett and his bestie, Kit, celebrate his birthday at school over Bat cookies:)

Michael helped the boys carve StarWars-themed Jack-O-Lanterns this year.  I think the last time we carved pumpkins was in our house on Kings Road in Singapore...ah, good memories.  We are finally settled into the house and making new memories.
 Caden with his creation!
We all dressed up as vampires this year to go trick or treating with friends from school and baseball.  Thank you to the McCabe's for being so welcoming!
Caden has been pitching for most of the fall season.  He is really enjoying fall baseball and the opportunity to pitch and play more.  This was his first attempt at catching:)

We have finally moved into our newly renovated house

One year ago in November we were moving from our apartment into our newly renovated home.  We are so grateful to friends and family for your support during this transition.  As we approach our move-in anniversary and Thanksgiving, I wanted to share some highlights from 2015.

Hiking in the North Georgia mountains before meeting our friends, Shrikanth and Chaitra in Helen, GA for Ocktoberfest weeks before we moved in.

Caden and Beckett enjoyed their first American Trick or Treat in a neighborhood around the corner from our house with new friends.

We were finally settled into our house this summer and were able to meet Michael's family at the beach in North Carolina for one week.  Caden and Beckett loved spending time with their NY cousins.   Last but not least, we were able to pull a family photo session together.  As most of you know who plan these, it is no small task.

Our first Mother's Day and Father's Day back in the US...

We celebrated Mother's Day with our friends the Micca's at Food 101.  They kindly invited us over to swim and play for the afternoon so we could escape apartment living.  Our house is still being renovated.  Needless to say we have not settled into our apartment...nothing on the walls...still in boxes...and racks of clothing cover the space.  September cannot come fast enough!

Today is Father's Day...we attended church and had a nice brunch at King and Duke.  Caden tried his first deviled egg...thumbs up...not really...he was being nice.

This has been the first Father's Day we have spent together in 6 years...I have always been Stateside with the kids while Michael remained in Singapore to work.  It has been a nice day for our family.  Fathers do not have an easy job...I am thankful that our children are growing up with both parents and that my father played such a pivotal role in shaping my life.

Coming to the end of another school year...

Caden started 2nd grade at SAS and finished at HFE.  He worked on presenting facts about Sweden for International Day with his classmates.  Beckett was the Prince in the end of year class play "Snow White".  One of his lines was confessing his love for his beloved Snow White...we rehearsed this seamlessly and of course the morning of the play he couldn't help but giggle...and barely got the lines out.  I am biased but he was the cutest little prince...EVER:)

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids were out of school due to snow in Atlanta for the 2nd time this year.  For Valentine's Day I took them to the circus and Michael and I introduced them to the game of Chess.  It was fun learning the strategies.  Caden is a competitive and skilled little opponent.

Spring training...

After playing football game after football game it is finally time for baseball!  Caden and Beckett love baseball and are trying out for NYO at Chastain Park this spring.  Caden is on the REDS and Beckett is still waitlisted.  He enjoys going with Michael and has a buddy that he plays baseball with during Caden's practice.  It is very competitive and the coaches have asked the the children practice every day when they are not practicing...3 days a week.

Merry Christmas from Atlanta!

This was our first Christmas in the US in many years.  Despite being in the US we were not in our home as we are renting an apartment while our house is being renovated.  With any luck we will hope to moved in before Caden and Beckett start school in the fall. You will know when we are settled when I send out 'Change of Address' cards...I am so excited for that day that I have actually already shopped for those cards!

This was the first year that we bought a potted Christmas tree.  I have been watering it and loving on it so that we can plant it at our new house.  The kids and I enjoyed picking it out together.
