Happy birthday to my growing Caden! I can't believe he is already 5. He can do so many things and is such a special person in our family. He drew a picture at school of he and Beckett playing cars and said that this was his favorite past time. I have such fond memories playing with my sister when we were young that it makes my heart smile to know that Caden and Beckett will have similar memories of their childhood.
Caden was so enthusiastic to celebrate his birthday that it was really 3 days of Caden's birthday! On Friday, I took cupcakes to his PreK class at SAS (Singapore American School) where he proudly wore his birthday crown and had his classmates sing happy birthday to him in both English and Mandarin. On Saturday, the family went to the Presidential Room at the American Club where we celebrated with a 'fancy' dinner. He was served a 1 pound chocolate cake while the pianist played a jazz version of happy birthday and we all sang. He got to open a few of his gifts (which was probably the most exciting for him) after he ate his cake and ice cream. On Sunday afternoon, he had a cosmic bowling party at the American Club with his friends. He was so excited during all of the activities that weekend...it was such a joy to see him so excited and pleased with it all!
