Summer fun!

After I got to spend a week in NYC I met the kids in Bloomington, IN.  We enjoyed time together with Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Jim.  Grandma is a good sport after our dinner at Which Which playing a game of Headbands!
There were several ice cream dates and one of our favorites was to the Chocolate Moose.
Great Grandma Maxine helped entertain the boys while in IN.  She also helped Sandy and I piece quilts that I am working on for the boys.  This is my first quilting project.  I am quite excited about it as I selected fabrics in NYC and Bloomington for the quilts.  Sandy is extremely patient and helped me draw up the pattern.
One of our family traditions is puzzle making.  Caden and Beckett are 'helping' Grandpa Gary put some pieces together in Iowa.
My cousin, Doreen, and her daughter Delany drove out to Lake Tahoe from Sacramento over the 4th of July.  We took in the fireworks, hiked, biked, stayed up late chatting and enjoyed evenings cooking.  It was delightful hosting them!
Michael and I learned how to paddle board!  It was so much fun!  We rented a house near Donner Lake outside of Truckee, CA for the month of July.  We bought a lot in the area this past winter with the hopes of someday building a vacation home there.
After a nearly 4 hour hike with Grandma Dianne and Grandpa Gary the kids are still smiling!  Woo hoo!
Caden lost his 2nd tooth during the hike.  He accidentally swallowed it so this is the shrine to his missing tooth.  Luckily the tooth fairy found him all the way in California!
One of our many activities while in Tahoe was bike riding.  We were able to rent attachments for the back of our bikes for the kids.  Beckett was behind me...and still learning how to ride...it proved to be an additional challenge...but we made it!
Grandma Dianne, Grandpa Gary, Aunt Racheal and Uncle Ben made the trip out to Tahoe to enjoy some family time before we returned to Singapore at the end of July.  We enjoyed our evenings cooking and spending time together as a family.
Over the summer Caden took up the game of pool.   Grandpa Jim taught him a few tricks that he was trying to teach Grandpa Gary.
Beckett learned to appreciate golden and red beets...here is his reaction!  Umm umm good!  I was pleasantly surprised!
I took the boys and Aunt Rachael to an old mining town, Virginia City, NV.  We enjoyed learning about the development of the west.

We took the boys to see the Giants play the Chicago Cubs in SF the day before we flew out.  It was so much fun to spend time with our their friends, Max and Alexandra.  They are moving to Switzerland and we will miss them dearly!  It was an amazing summer filled with memories.
