It's hard to believe that we celebrated Easter in Atlanta last year. I remember taking the boys on an Easter egg hunt at a long-term care facility. This year we participated in the Caring for Cambodia fundraising Egg-a-Thon. It was a rainy afternoon in Singapore so unfortunately Beckett couldn't really participate. Caden enjoyed running around dodging the mosquitos in quest of finding the most eggs. He found some 'special' eggs and got a stuffed bunny and tshirt to support his efforts. After the eggs, Caden lined up for a picture with the bunny rabbit while Beckett munched on popcorn.
Caden had a party at school to celebrate Easter. I went and we made an easter basket together. It was really a lot of fun. He put candy in it for Dad! Caden is a very thoughtful little boy. After we were done making the baskets all of the kids and their mothers played games. After a few games, everyone looked so miserable from the heat that the teacher took pity on us and didn't make us play the last game...it was time for our refreshments! Caden of course only wanted to eat the chocolate and butterschotch bunnies!
We had brunch at the American Club after church on Easter Sunday. It's been a few years since I have been at home with my family to celebrate. I have fond memories of getting together for a potluck lunch and getting up early for sunrise service at church. Growing up in the midwest it was impossible to wear a warm-weathered dress as it alway so cold. I remember a few times demanding to wear my dress despite the cool temperatures and suffering for it later. I would say some things never change, but now that I find myself in a tropical climate, I seldom wear jeans and opt for the shorts and tank top. It's amazing how uncomfortable jeans are in hot weather! I'm getting smarter with age.
