Michael's trip to India...

Michael spent two weeks in India. His biggest fear was getting Dehli belly...which he tried to avoid thanks to his avoidance of salads and all things fresh and washed to no avail his efforts were unsuccessful. He was sick for a few days and fortunately only had a mild case. He was able to tour the slums in Mumbai (Bombay) and said it was eye-opening. For those of you who have not seen the Academy Award winner for Best Film this past year, you should rent 'Slumdog Millionaire' to get an inside look at what the slums are like. The film portrays the unfortunate reality for half of Mumbai's population which is nearly 7 million people.

He was aslo able to connect with Chiki, our favorite antique dealer who we just bought dining room furniture from. Chiki specializes in pieces that are British, Dutch and Porteguese. We settled on a table, cabinet and 8 chairs that are British colonial antiques (all but chairs as they are new replicas). We celebrated Easter in our new dining room with friends over dinner. I tried chocolate molten cakes with mixed berries and cream flavored ice cream for dessert. This was my first attemp and thankfully they turned out nicely. I should have taken a picture. This is my new favorite dessert to make and serve. It is surprisingly easy and virtually impossible to undercook it...as that is required!
