Happy Birthday Caden...#6
Happy Birthday Caden! I cannot believe we are celebrating number 6 already! I can still remember eating spicy food from Annie's Thai Castle in Atlanta the night before going to Northside Hospital to be induced 6 years ago.
This year Caden wanted to have a Star Wars themed party. I really enjoyed planning his party at home. There was a total of 10 boys (all ranging in age from 4-7) in my house for 2 1/2 + hours...that translates into a lot of energy! Michael was in charge of games (Star Wars Bingo, pass the asteroid, battle the death star and Jedi training), and his friend, Sean, attended and was a great sport dressing up as Darth Vadar to fight the young Jedis with his lightsaber. It was fun all around! The boys had a great time and were exhausted going home. We had planned to watch some Clone Wars episodes but the kids had so much fun with their light sabers and playing outside that we didn't need a back up plan watching TV:)
I even dressed up as Princess Leya and played Happy Birthday on the piano (first time in front of a room full of people). I worked on baking Star Wars cookies and a 3D R2D2 cake all week. Caden was very proud of his cake and his new R2D2 interactive robot that joined the party. R2 greeted Caden from school on Friday with a can of Mug rootbeer...what a welcome home!
It will be hard to come up with a more exciting party next year now...good thing I've got a year to think about it! Thank you to all of his friends for coming and making his birthday so special. Thank you also to Michael's friend, Sean, for being such a great Darth Vader any my friend, Katja, who photographed the entire party! Last but not least, thank you to Michael for leading all of those boys through the games and Jedi training. We have some great memories.
